- Nina does not have a single drop of English blood in her veins (her father is German while her mother was Bulgarian).
- Contrary to popular belief, Nina does not dream of becoming a Curse-breaker in the future as she would rather become a Potioneer or Magizoologist.
- Nina is a quiet but curious child by nature. When she met Rowan, who was just as quiet as her, both of them kept to themselves. Even when they became friends with Tonks, it’s usually just the two of them together, as Tonks was always in detention. She became friends with her roommate, Liz, but even she was initially shy and quiet around Nina. It wasn’t until they became friends with Charlie that she started coming out of her shell. Nina proved to be very playful, mischievous, and silly when she’s with close friends. She also got closer to Tonks. When she met Tulip and Jae, everything went crazy and all hell broke loose (*cue Stitch’s maniacal laughter).
- Nina and Charlie were formally introduced to each other in their second year, on Christmas Day. But they didn’t become close until their fourth year. This was partly because they were both very shy around each other at first and the major part was that other things kept them busy (Cursed Vaults for Nina and Quidditch for Charlie). In their third year, they talked more as they shared more classes but Charlie spent most of his time sneaking in the Forbidden Forest than actually spending time with people.
- Despite being social and having friends from all Houses, Nina is actually an introvert who loves spending time alone. She’s goofy and silly and she enjoys being in the company of her closest friends, but even that drains so much of her energy in the long run that she would recharge or de-stress by spending time on her own.
- Nina loves to eat and is always seen munching on something all the time. She would literally choose violence if anyone takes her pudding (yet she often steals her friends’s pudding… the little shit). She really loves her waffles, yorkshire pudding, and… rice (Jeniferl Theman’s influence lmao). How she’s able to maintain her weight despite having a black hole for a stomach… no one knows. Must be one hell of a fast metabolism and Quidditch.
- Since their surname, Lindenbaum, is such a mouthful, their family allows others to shorten it to Lindel.
- Nina spaces out often so she gets lost often as well.
- She looks up to Professor Snape, for some reason. Potions is one of her best subjects and she often volunteers to gather potions ingredients with him or for him.
- She disappeared right after graduation, no one knows where she went or if she’s still even alive.
- The moles on her face, that form a colon (:), make her look even more attractive.
- She doesn’t like wearing accessories very much so she only wears a wrist watch given by her father, simple red earrings, and the golden dragon necklace (shaped like a ‘C’) she got from Charlie.
- Charlie later gave her an orange hair tie, similar to the one he wears, when hers snapped. She treasures this hair tie and charmed it so that it will remain in its pristine form, to prevent wear and tear, and so that it wouldn’t stretch too much. She wears in on her right wrist when she’s not using it. (I decided that if you max out Charlie’s friendship level, you receive his hair tie instead of his hairstyle).
- Charlie gave her Animagus form the nickname ‘Opaleye’ or just Opal, after the Antipodean Opaleye (according to him, Nina’s silver hair is pearly like the scales of an Opaleye).
- Nina has an unconscious habit of pulling out grass or ripping up paper, while staring into nothing, when she’s sad, hurt, upset, unhappy, or heartbroken. She was not aware of this until Charlie pointed it out.
- Nina had wavy fringes when she was a student. Whenever she tried to cut it, it would grow back out (just like Harry Potter’s hair). On the day after graduating, Nina was finally able to tame it. She couldn’t remember how since due to her annoyance she just randomly casted all hair spells she knew lols. She started parting her hair to the side since she realized her fringes didn’t wave when her hair’s parted that way.
- Nina is left-handed. Her right hand is weak so she can’t use it for shit.
- Nina’s naming sense is so bad her friends think all her pets have terrible names except for Alto.
- Although Rowan was sorted into Ravenclaw, they remained very close and they always find the time to hang out. (ROWAN.IS.A.RAVENCLAW.FIGHT.ME.)
- She tends to avoid/ ignore Merula and Ismelda in the dormitory while she gravitates to Liz, whom she shares her love of magical creatures with (she rarely sees Skye around since she’s always at the pitch). Among Slytherins, she’s often seen with Liz, Barnaby, and Face Paint Kid.
- Outside of Slytherin, she’s always with Rowan and Charlie. The trio is joined at the hips and all of Hogwarts know how inseparable they are. Tonks joins them, when she’s not in detention or causing trouble, and their little quartet is quite famous for being a ‘sight to behold’.
- The Lindenbaum family held the linden tree in high regard and even considered it their sacred tree (it is their family emblem) so when Nina was chosen by a silver lime wand (2nd wand), she was quite proud of herself and wanted to brag to Jacob, only to remember he was missing. She bragged to her dad instead.
- Nina speaks fluent German. She and her father speaks in German most of the time. Although not as fluent, she can very well hold conversations in Bulgarian and Russian.
- If she wasn’t sorted into Slytherin, she would definitely be in Hufflepuff (hello to Hufflepuff!Nina in the alternate universe).
- Nina’s a great singer. She also plays the guitar, mandolin, and trumpet really well. She plays the piano sometimes.
- Amongst her friends, only Bill and Tonks know of her feelings for Charlie, feelings she finally, albeit tearfully, acknowledged to herself in their 6th year.
- Out of all her friends, Nina loves and cherishes Rowan and Charlie the most as they are her bestest friends.
NOTES FROM ME:
- Hufflepuff!Nina in the alternate universe is hetero-sapiosexual. She has a thing for intelligent males, most of the time Slytherins (this is why she gravitated to Felix Rosier and later Prof Snape 😏). Slytherin!Nina on the other hand is… Charliesexual… if that’s even an acceptable term lmao
- Even though they are basically the same, Hufflepuff!Nina and Slytherin!Nina do have their differences (aside from their ideal types). Hufflepuff!Nina is much cheerful, tends to get over her sadness easily, and has a more positive outlook in life. Slytherin!Nina, although just as cheerful, got exposed to the harshness of reality early on in Slytherin House. The dreary atmosphere and cold treatment of the House did nothing to dampen her ever growing loneliness. This made her gentler and kinder yet also distant and withdrawn.
